Book Recommendation: Do Unto Animals: A Friendly Guide to How Animals Live, and How We Can Make Their Lives Better by Tracey Stewart, Illustrations by Lisel Ashlock

This book is SO beautiful: Lisel's illustrations make me want to pet the animals. She has loving depictions of farm animals, pets, and more. Sometimes I enjoy just flipping through the book and visiting the drawings of "Backyard Wildlife", "Animals at Home", and "Falling in Love on the Farm".

Tracey's ideas are vast; she has sections on understanding the body language of different animals - do you want to speak dog or horse? Her information about wildlife provides ways to create an environment that you share with the natural world and she even has crafts to make projects to connect with animals.

Tracy is an incredible advocate for animals in her daily life and this book teaches us all new ways to help the animals we encounter. Even though I live in an apartment, so I'm not in a place to be able to make a frog sanctuary (page 112-113), but it's really cool to see that info and dream of a day when I can do this. Thank you, Tracey.

From the introduction, Tracey says it best, "By sharing what my family and I have learned and experienced over the years, I hope to inspire all animal lovers to learn a little more and do a little more. I've made mistakes with animal care with the best intentions. The more I learn, the better I do." I have certainly learned and continue to learn from this beautiful book and I hope you can get a copy soon!!!!

This looks like such a great book--and the things Tracey Stewart is doing to protect animals and make the world a better place are so inspiring. I checked out the link to her Hey Friend Foundation. What wonderful things she is doing. The pictures of the different animals and descriptions of their personalities are really neat. Also, what you described in her book about making crafts to help people connect with animals sounds awesome. I really look forward to reading this book, and I thank you again for your informative and inspiring posts!
